A Country kind of a Weekend

It was a beautiful weekend, jam packed with "country" activities. Saturday we went to the Carp Farmer’s Market , and I’m kicking myself because I forgot my camera. We picked up some fresh local fruits and vegetables, we also got some meat from some local organic farmers, and we’ll also be placing some orders with them. But the best find was this booth that sold these homemade assortment of spices. So good!!! Made by The Salty Don . We picked up some Smoke and fire seasalt, lemon pepper, and Tuscan smoked. We tried the Smoke and Fire blend on our grilled steak with some olive oil and seriously it was the most delicious steak I`ve ever had!
Sunday we went apple picking at Kilmarnock Orchard . It was a little chilly, but great for picking apples and taking photos.  After that on our way home we stopped in the little artsy town of Merrickville . We bought some things at this really great Antique and Country shop and then at this great little cooking store filled with gourmet and imported spices and sauces.Check the store out here.
Here are some photos of our time at the orchard.

And as you can see by the two big bags of apples we got… I`ve got a whole lot of baking to do! 🙂
